Malaysian Coaches Dominate Persib Wish List

Persib Bandung's search for a new continues. Last season saw them work their way through three different coaches yet none were able to make any real impression on a team filled with stars yet seemingly unable to turn potential into results on the field.

Daniel Roekito, who ended last season with Persib, has taken over the reigns at Persisam Samarinda and till now Persib have hit a brick wall in their efforts to replace him.

Their first choice, Rahmad Darmawan, decided to take on responsibility with the Indonesia Under 23s ahead of the SEA Games later this year. Other coaches like Alfred Riedl, Wolfgang Pikal and Fandi Ahmad have also been linked with the West Java club.

Now, according to the Persib fan site Simamaung, they are turning their attentions to Malaysia and, specifically, the national team coach there Rajagobal (Pictured left with David Booth). Raja led Malaysia to the AFF Cup last year, defeating Indonesia in the final, but their World Cup ambitions were thwarted by Singapore in the qualifiers.

Raja would need permission from the Malaysian Football Association if he were to take on the job.

There is a Malaysian Plan B though. Raja Isa, formerly worked with Persiram and Persipura.
