MALAYSIAN officials were given a runaround in their search for the 30th gold medal yesterday.
But they were all left disappointed when the tally stayed at 29.
First, a group of officials gathered at the archery range. But when the men’s recurve team were beaten to the gold medal, the officials dashed to the shooting range.
At the range, they watched in disappointment as Malaysia raked in two silver medals through the 25m rapid fire pistol team and Hasli Izwan Izhar Hasan in the individual event.
The group, who had a card with a big No. 30 written on it, then headed for the athletics arena, where more disappointment awaited them.
The wait to meet the National Sports Council’s (NSC) target in the 25th Games should end today.
